‘Off the Shelf’ is a twice monthly post where I regain control of my TBR and focus on those books that have been languishing on my bookshelves for too long. I will select a book that I have owned for more than one year, talk a little bit about the book and why I purchased it, and then actually read it 😀
My fourth pick is…
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
What is it all about?
A copy of Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them resides in almost every wizarding household in the country. Now Muggles too have the chance to discover where the Quintaped lives, what the Puffskein eats and why it is best not to leave milk out for a Knarl (goodreads blurb)
Why did you buy it?
I bought this book because it is mentioned in Harry Potter. When I purchased the book some of the proceeds were being donated to charity, so that makes me feel slightly better about having purchased the book so long ago and never having read it.
How long has it been on the shelf?
This book has been on my shelf for over 5 years 😊 This is genuinely the first time that I will be reading it ☺️
This has been a real Harry Potter year, with the Cursed Child and now the Fantastic Beasts movie, it just felt like the right time. Also, I have quite a high number of books that I need to read to achieve my goodreads challenge and this book is a nice compact size 😉
Have you read Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them? Have you seen the film yet? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below.
